PROJECT SUMMARY:
Chamberlain Hardware is a family run Hardware store, founded in 1903, now in its 4th Generation. After a long-standing relationship with the client, we were appointed to design their 8th store in Strubens Valley, JHB which is a 7000sqm big box hardware trying to build brand equity in the DIY space in Gauteng amongst other established brands. Their service offering is differentiated by their focus on long standing relationships and customer services.
Working in conjunction with Architects who did the Shell design , our role was focused on the customer experience and branding components creating 4 key destination experiences within a massive retail box. This gave legibility to the customer journey which otherwise would have been a “journey through the woods” in a sea of aisles. These key experiences help to orientate user the user at first glance and keep customers as engaged and easily orientated. These moments also gave the client the opportunity to drive newness with dedicated customer activation zones and break down the large space with store-in-store experiences
